GREETINGS FELLOW PHOTOGRAPHERS AND BIRDERS. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL.
GREAT WEATHER AND TONS OF BIRDS PROVIDED MANY PHOTOGRAPHIC OPPORTUNITIES. WE HAD A WONDERFUL DAY AT CONOWINGO DAM, AND ON OUR WAY TO CHINCOTEAGUE WE RECEIVED AN E MAIL ABOUT TWO SNOWY OWLS (ONE OF MY NEMESIS BIRDS) AT DEWEY BEACH DELAWARE (THANKS JEFF). BY THE TIME WE GOT TO THE BEACH THERE WAS ONE BIRD AND ABOUT AN HOUR OF SUNLIGHT LEFT AND 60 YARDS BETWEEN MYSELF AND THE BIRD. I AM GENERALLY HAPPY WITH THE IMAGES BUT HOPE TO DO BETTER THIS WINTER, WITH BETTER LIGHT AND A SHORTER DISTANCE. IT IS ONE OF THE FEW BIRDS I WILL DRIVE A FEW HOURS FOR, SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU SEE/HEAR ABOUT ONE. WE HAD 2 GREAT DAYS AT CHINCOTEAGUE AND 2 VERY WET DAYS-WE BIRDED IN THE RAIN BUT NO PHOTOGRAPHS.
AND THEN THERE ARE THE LOCAL SPOTS FOR ALL THE DEPENDABLE REGULARS. TO VIEW THE IMAGES AS A SLIDESHOW WITH MUSIC, CLICK ON THE SLIDESHOW TAB IN THE UPPER RIGHT
AS ALWAYS, ALL THE IMAGES ARE PROTECTED AND COPY RIGHT BY HARRIS BROWN AND MAY NOT BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION.

happy new year folks! love the shots as usual. but these gave one the opportunity to study and revel in closeups of feathers and fur, whiskers and the effects of water droplets. just wonderful.
as for owls: we got ours at the brig several weeks ago; going back on friday as 9 have been reported there. there are also owls in several places in delaware, and lots of other places in new jersey as well. i also think one was reported, albeit briefly, in the philly area and one visited falls township park last week for a brief time. let me know if you want to have a recent e-bird alert sent to you with some of these listings. take care and thanks again!

Wonderful shots as always Harris. Love the Dunlin with droplet and reflection, Godwit with reflection and landing Song Sparrow. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Stunning images, thank you for sharing them. I am going to Canada in search of Snowy Owls in a months time and I agree with you they are a bird worth travelling for. Seasons Greetings to all.
