Warblers are among the most challenging birds to identify, with their seasonally changing plumages and often confusing songs and calls. Here in the Mid-Atlantic region of the USA, more than 30 species of Warblers pass through during the month of May. Some will stay to nest, but most are heading north. Any of the larger wooded parks will become stop-over places for the birds to fuel up on their journey north. Some of the local parks I like to visit are: Peace Valley, Pennypack Trust, the Pocono mountains and Old Mine Road.,John Heinz NWR, Noxamixon and Tyler State parks. For the past 7 years we have visited Magee Marsh in northwest Ohio mid-May. Fantastic place. We've seen more than 20 species on a good day there (southern winds).
