July was a fantastic month at the local nature centers as well as down the shore. My favorite place this month was the ever popular Heron rookery in Ocean City, NJ. Up close and personal shots of Yellow Crowned and Black Crowned Night Herons in the nest, as juveniles and adults as well as tons of flight shot opportunities of many species of birds. My friend Rob took me out on a kayak trip to some of the nesting islands in Barnegat Bay. We had a blast and got some nice images to boot. The beaches of Cape May county weren't too shabby either. To view the images as a slideshow with music, hit the SLIDESHOW tab in the upper right. All of the images are copyright by me, Harris Brown, and may not be used in any way without written permission. Thanks and enjoy. see you on the trails.

simply marvelous…..the rookery photos were terrific, and the adult yc night heron with flared feathers and matching flared head feathers a perfection of composition and timing. thanks for keeping it so wonderful!
Another set of excellent photos. How and where did you find a ruby-throated hummingbird nest? Someday I hope to discover one.
You really had a great month with some really impressive images, especially the shore birds and night herons.
