First off-Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to all. Despite the many cold and overcast days, I was able to get a decent variety of birds this month. Fran and I spent 5 days in Chincoteague (3 rainy and 2 nice, productive days) and a very cloudy day (the weatherman lied again) at Conowingo Dam. We had 30 minutes of sun and 4 1/2 hours of dark skies. I made my usual visits to some of the local nature centers and picked up some song and field birds.
