THE HOT MONTH OF JULY FOUND ME AT MY TWO FAVORITE LOCAL HOT SPOTS-PENNYPACK TRUST AND PEACE VALLEY. ALL THE "REGULARS" WERE COOPERATIVE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE PILEATED WOODPECKER-ALWAYS PLAYING HARD TO GET OR IN VERY BAD LIGHT. I ALSO SPENT A FEW DAYS IN CAPE MAY AND STONE HARBOR WALKING THE BEACHES IN SEARCH OF SHOREBIRDS. I ONLY SAW ONE PIPING PLOVER ON TWO MILES OF BEACH-HOPEFULLY THERE ARE MORE. CLICK ON THE SLIDESHOW TAB IN THE UPPER RIGHT TO VIEW THE IMAGES AS A SLIDESHOW WITH MUSIC. ALL IMAGES ARE COPYRIGHT BY HARRIS BROWN AND MAY NOT BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION. THANKS AND ENJOY

i eagerly await each month for your contributions to bird portraits! this one had some fun extras, especially the red tail and the gorgeously composed fawn pics, along with the feeding of the least tern chicks.

but it was really nice to see one of you, harris! happy photo hunting in august.
